Think of this juice like a good Asian stir fry. Lots of colour and interesting flavours.
You may not have juiced some of these ingredients before, but in a good cold press juicer you will be able to benefit from the fresh healthy vegetable juice for sustained energy.
The flavour was very well balanced. I found the juice nourishing, juicy with a nice tang. It really felt like drinking a meal in a glass.

Ingredients

  • 1 Red Capsicum
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Yellow Squash
  • 1 bunch Choy Sum
  • 1 handful Sugar Snap Peas
  • 1/4 Red Onion
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 pinch Sesame Seeds

Preparation

Capsicum
  • Remove the green stems
  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit in the wide chute
  • Remove excess seeds
Carrot
  • Cut carrots lengthwise down the middle
  • If larger carrots are used cut again lengthwise into quarters
Squash
  • No preparation needed, juice whole
Choy Sum (Chinese cabbage)
  • Roughly chop the whole bunch into pieces cutting across the stalks (this shortens the long stringy cellulose fibre and stops it wrapping around the press)
  • Juice handfuls at a time
Sugar Snap Peas
  • No preparation needed, juice whole
Lime
  • Thinly slice off the outer skin
  • Cut into slices
Onion
  • Cut into half
  • Peel the outer skin

Instructions

  • Keep the cap closed for this juice to mix all the colours and flavours.
  • Firstly, add the red capsicum. Next, add the carrots one half at a time letting the machine chew each one before adding the next half. Add the yellow squash followed by handfuls of the choy sum.
  • Now, add all the sugar snaps and the red onion quarter.
  • Lastly, finish by adding the lime and garnish with sesame seeds.
  • Tip:  Smaller stalks (choy sum) are generally more tender and mild, while older, larger stalks often have a more pronounced bitter and/or sharp mustard-green flavour.
