I don’t know about you, but I find vegetable juices have that extra feeling of “health”. You just know it is good for you as soon as you start drinking it (much the way a green juice does).
This juice with its deep earthy colour is a good indication of just how filled with health it is. The inclusion of radishes adds a real pepper aroma and a gentle, spice that starts to warm you up straight away.


  • 10 Carrots
  • 2 Cucumber
  • 8 Radishes
  • 1 2 cm piece Ginger
  • 1/2 Beetroot
  • 1 Lemon


  • Cut carrots lengthwise once
  • If larger carrots are used cut again lengthwise
  • Cut in chunks to fit down the chute
  • Juice with skin on
  • Cut off the leaves
  • Juice whole (if they are large cut into halves)
  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece
  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on
  • Cut in half and then into quarters
  • Slice each half into thin slices to make it easier to press
  • Juice with skin on (you can also juice the leaves and stems)
  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points
  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon


  • Start with juicing all the carrots. Tip: Go slow and let the juicer finish pressing each half before adding the next.
  • Next juice the cucumbers, followed by the radishes (adding a few at a time).
  • Now add the ginger followed by the slices of beetroot.
  • Lastly, add the lemon (this will also help push all the other ingredients through).
  • Tip: If you grow your own radishes, try picking them when they’re not quite fully grown. This is when they have the most nutrients.
