Sweet and Spicy

The tomato and sweet potato combine to make a thick and creamy tasting juice.
There is a nice sweet flavour with a a touch of pepper from the capsicum and spice from the chili. Note: If you opt to use chilli, remove the seeds if it's too hot.


  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 Red Capsicum
  • 3 stalks Celery
  • 1/2 Sweet Potato


  • 1 Cayenne Pepper or Chilli


  • Remove the green stems
  • Juice whole

  • Remove the green stems
  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit in the wide chute
  • Remove excess seeds
  • Cut of the stalk end
  • Cut in half lengthways and remove the seeds if you don’t want it too chilli hot, otherwise leave them in
  • Chop into small thumb size pieces across the stalks (this shortens the long stringy cellulose fibre and stops it wrapping around the press)
  • You can juice celery leaves, however it will add bitterness, so discard if you don’t like it
Sweet Potato
  • Cut into thin slices
  • Juice with the skin on


  • Keep the smart cap closed and begin juicing the tomatoes. They are often quite soft and juicy, so it may take a few moments to extract the juice and move the pulp through the chute.
  • Next juice the red capsicum (and optional chilli if you are using). Let all the red ingredients combine then release the smart cap.
  • Now begin juicing the celery one handful at a time.
  • Finish with the sweet potato slices. Take your time and let the juicer squeeze and press each slice individually before adding the next one.
  • Tip: Many thought tomatoes were poisonous because they were related to belladonna and nightshade, two deadly plants. In fact, the roots and leaves of the tomato plant are poisonous. Don't juice them!!!
