This juice is very satisfying with lots of flavour. You can taste the sweetness from the capsicum and carrot, the tartness from tomato, the spice from the chilli and that fresh herb smell from the basil is amazing. A perfect summer dinner juice.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 red capsicum
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 long red chilli
  • 1 handful basil
  • pinch salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

Tomato
  • Remove the green stems
  • Juice whole
Red Capsicum
  • Remove the green stems
  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit in the wide chute
  • Remove excess seeds (they can be juiced but change the flavour)
Carrots
  • Cut carrots lengthwise once
  • If larger carrots are used cut again lengthwise into quarters
Celery
  • Chop into small pieces (5cm) across the stalks to cut the long stringy fibre
  • You can juice the leaves if you like the bitter taste otherwise discard
Chili
  • Cut of the stalk end
  • Cut in half length-ways and remove the seeds (the juicer will do it but it may add too much heat… up to you)
Basil
  • Pick the leaves from the stems
  • You can juice the stems if you want more basil flavour just roughly chop them

Instructions
 

  • Keep the smart cap close and begin juicing the tomatoes. They are really juicy but take a few moments to move through the pulp chute.
  • Next juice the red capsicums and chili. Let all the red ingredients combine then release the smart cap.
  • Now juice the carrot one half at a time.
  • Next drop the fresh basil into the juicer chute followed by the celery one handful at a time. The celery will help push the basil leaves through the press.
  • You can season this juice with sea salt and pepper to your liking once made.
