The recipe is a wonderful digestive tonic with the combination of cabbage and pear being especially good nutrition for the digestive system. If you have eaten poorly and feel your digestive system has gone a bit pear-shaped then try drinking this juice.
The flavour is very well balanced, slightly sweet, and refreshing. It is an easy juice to make and you get lots of fresh juice.


  • 4 pears
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1/4 green cabbage


  • Remove the hard wooden stems
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
  • Cut into chunks to fit down the chute
  • Juice with skin on
  • Cut into slices about 5cm wide
  • Chop slices into pieces small enough to fit down the chute


  • Start with the pears. Add them to the juicer one at a time allowing each one to press through fully.
  • Next add the cabbage, one chunk at a time.
  • Finish with the cucumber pieces also adding them one at a time.
  • Remember it is a cold press juicer so let the juicer press each ingredient through before adding more ingredients.
  • Tip: select the harder pears when buying as they press better in the juicer.
