The juice recipe combines the most common juice ingredients into one all-round juice recipe. I named it the All Stars as they are favourites in the juicing world.
These common ingredients are also available all year round. They juice well, have lots of liquid and are packed with nutrition.
The recipe offers a bit of everything. Sweet and spicy, fruit and veg, red, orange, yellow and green. It has it all and is definitely a star!

Ingredients

  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 apple
  • 1 2cm ginger piece
  • 1/2 lemon

Preparation

Beetroot
  • Cut in half and then into quarters
  • Slice each half into thin slices to make it easier to press.
  • Juice with skin on (you can also juice the leaves and stems if you have them).
Carrots
  • Cut carrots once lengthwise to release the core
  • Juice with skin on
  • Note: If larger carrots are used cut lengthwise again, into quarters
Celery
  • Chop stalks into small thumb-size pieces across the stalks (this shortens the long stringy cellulose fibre and stops it from wrapping around the press)
  • You can juice celery leaves, however it will add bitterness, so discard if you don’t like this
Oranges
  • Thinly cut off the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
Apples
  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers
  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.
  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute
Ginger
  • Wash and dry
  • Cut into thin pieces the size of your thumbnail leaving the skin on
Lemon
  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points
  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon.

EQUIPMENT

Instructions

  • Prepare all ingredients ready for juicing
  • All these ingredients juice easily.
  • Start with the oranges adding them one at a time then add the apple.
  • Juice the carrots next, add one half at a time followed by the beetroot. I always add about 1/4 of the beetroot slices at a time to the juicer before adding more.
  • Add the ginger next then add one handful of celery at a time until all the celery is juiced.
  • Finish with the lemon slices.

Tip:

  • you can use any colour apple in this recipe, I mostly use red apples as they have more phytonutrients in the skin.
