My mum, who is in her seventies now, just completed a 10-day juice fast and she created this juice recipe, filled with all of her favourite fruits. I have named this juice after her as it truly is a great juice - what a superstar mum she is!
The taste is fruity, sweet and well balanced, you can really taste each of the flavours. It's even better after a few hours in the fridge.

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 punnet Strawberries
  • 2 Pears
  • 1/8 Watermelon
  • 1/4 Pineapple

  • Peel the skin off
  • Pull off the small green leaves, you can juice them if you want
  • Juice whole
  • Remove the hard-wooden stems
  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
  • Thinly slice the outer green skin leaving most of the white flesh intact
  • Cut the melon in slices about two fingers wide
  • Cut the slices into chunks
  • Thinly slice the outer skin leaving most of the yellow flesh intact
  • Cut the flesh into strips about two fingers wide
  • Cut the core from the middle strips and dice in small cubes

  • Start this juice with the whole banana. You don't get a lot of juice out of a banana, but they press really well and provide a good sweet flavour to the juice.
  • Next add the strawberries and let the machine blend them with the banana.
  • Next juice the pears followed by the watermelon pieces. There is a lot of juice in watermelon which will wash the first ingredients through the cold press juicer.
  • Finish the recipe with the pineapple slices.
  • Tip: banana, strawberry, pear and watermelon are very soft so you need to slow down the feeding, take your time and let the juice push through the juicer.

Liquid Nutrition

There is more to every fruit, vegetable and leafy green than taste and flavour. Each one has a unique signature or a "sign from nature" indicating what part of the human body its nutrition targets. The light or the colour of fruits and vegetables can help us heal emotionally (think colour therapy) and the lessons the fruits, vegetables and leafy greens learn when growing get passed onto us, to help us, when we consume them.
