Joint Relief Juice

The fruits in this juice are valued for reducing acidity and inflammation in the joints as well as helping to dissolve inorganic waste material that may have accumulated. The colour is very mysterious, and the flavour has a bittersweet depth to it that makes it very moreish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 punnet Blackberries (125g)
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 2 Red Apples
  • 1/2 Grapefruit
  • 2 cm piece Ginger
  • 1/2 Pineapple

Preparation

Blackberries
  • Juice whole
 
Cucumber
  • Cut into chunks to fit down the chute
  • Juice with skin on
 
Apple
  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers
  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds
  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute
 
Grapefruit
  • Remove the outer skin keeping as much white pith as possible
  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit into the wide chute
 
Ginger
  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece
  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on
 
Pineapple
  • Slice off the outer skin
  • Cut into long thin strips to fit down the chute
  • Chop the core into small chunks

Instructions
 

  • Start with the blackberries (you can put the whole lot in at once).
  • Then add the cucumber pieces, followed by the apples (one at a time).
  • Next, add the grapefruit and then the sliced ginger.
  • Lastly, finish with the pineapple strips and then the pineapple core.
  • Tip: blackberries should not be washed until just before being used. If your berries are damp, gently dry them on paper towels before storing. Store uncovered in a shallow container in the refrigerator.
