Green juice is rich in Chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll is often referred to as “the blood of plants”. It helps the plants to absorb energy from sunlight and it’s what gives plants their green colour.

Using a cold press juicer start with a base juice from a vegetable that has a high water content.
- Base – celery, cucumber, or zucchini
- Leafy Green – kale, silverbeet, chard, or spinach
- Flavour – green apple and a slice or two of lemon
In a cold press juicer, you can also extract a lot of green juice and extra flavour from herbs such as parsley, mint, coriander and basil. You can also juice wheatgrass in a good cold press juicer.
Which Juicer is Best
Fast Juicers (centrifugal juicer) will waste a lot of your green produce. The metal blades are spinning so fast the light weight of the greens get flung out into the pulp bucket leaving you with very little green juice. The pulp that does just juiced is very wet as the juicer hasn’t extracted all the juice.
Blenders make a smoothie not a juice. Smoothies are a great meal replacement but they do have to be digested to eliminate the cellulose fibre (pulp) in the greens as they are not digestible which takes time and energy.
