Cabbage is not just for coleslaw and sauerkraut, it is delightful and healing for the digestive system especially when juiced with the other digestive ingredients in this recipe.
This juice recipe is light and easy to drink. It has a refreshing taste that is sweet, tangy, and slightly peppery.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cabbage green
  • 1/2 pineapple
  • 1 handful mint leaves
  • 1 5cm ginger piece

Preparation

Cabbage
  • Roughly chop into pieces small enough to fit down the chute
Pineapple
  • Slice off the outer skin
  • Cut into long thin strips to fit down the chute
  • Chop the core into small chunks
Ginger
  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece
  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on
Mint
  • Remove the leaves from the woody stems

Tip: Cabbage should be heavy in size with bright colorful and crisp leaves. Feel the outside to make sure that the cabbage is firm to the touch.

Instructions

  • I always add any herbs first when using a cold press juicer as you get a lot more of the herbal flavour mixed into the juice.
  • Start by adding the whole handful of mint leaves into the juicer.
  • Next, add the cabbage pieces in handfuls at a time. The cabbage will make lots of squeaking noise as it is being pressed through the juicer. This is OK!
  • Next, add the ginger slices.
