Some like it hot!!!If that is you then put the whole chilli through the juicer, If not don't miss out on the many benefits of adding fresh chilli to your juice just remove the seeds first. I really enjoyed the taste of this juice. It was mildly spicy, light and had a well balanced sweetness.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 zucchini
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 long red chilli
  • 1 yellow capsicum
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1/2 lemon

Preparation

Zucchini
  • Cut the hard end off
  • Juice whole or cut into halves to fit in the wide chute
Carrots
  • Cut carrots lengthwise
  • Juice with skin on
  • Note: If larger carrots are used cut lengthwise again, into quarters
Chili
  • Cut of the stalk end
  • Cut in half length-ways and remove the seeds if you don’t want it too chilli hot, otherwise leave them in
Capsicum
  • Remove the green stems
  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit in the wide chute
  • Remove excess seeds (you can juice them)
Celery
  • Chop into small thumb size pieces across the stalks (this shortens the long stringy cellulose fibre and stops it wrapping around the press)
  • You can juice celery leaves, however it will add bitterness, so discard if you don’t like this
Lemon
  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points
  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon.

Instructions
 

  • Start making this juice with the soft zucchini. They juice really easy but need a bit of time to press through.
  • Next juice the hard carrots as they help push the zucchini flesh through. Go slow and let the machine chew each half before adding the next half of carrot.
  • Add the chilli pepper whole then add the juicy capsicum pieces one by one.
  • Next juice all the cut celery in one handful.
  • Finish the juice with the lemon slices.
  • Tip:  In the shops look for fresh chilli peppers that have a brilliant red colour and a healthy stem. Make sure there aren’t any spots, mould or spoiled tips.
