Making homemade lemonade is super easy in a cold press juicer and if you haven’t made any yet check out the Best Ever Homemade Lemonade recipe I did a while ago.
This time we are going to drop the sugar water and jazz the lemonade up a little with some basil and cucumber to add extra refreshing flavour and give it more of a cooling effect on the body.
Basil, cucumber and lemon are good friends and with the added soda water make a summer drink that is great over ice or cold from the fridge.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 large cucumbers
  • 1 handful basil
  • 3 peeled lemons
  • 500 ml soda water

Preparation

Cucumber
  • Cut into chunks to fit down the chute
  • Juice with skin on
Lemon (peeled)
  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard endpoints
  • Thinly cut off the lemon skin leaving as much white pith as possible
Basil
  • Remove the leaves from the stalk
  • Juice whole leaves

Instructions
 

  • Prepare all ingredients ready for juicing
  • To start making this juice recipe add a handful of basil to the juicer. You don’t need to push it down the chute just drop it in as the cucumbers will push it through.
  • Next, add the cucumbers. You can put a couple of chunks through at a time letting the juicer press them through before adding more.
  • Add the lemons one at a time.
  • Finish making this juice recipe by closing the cap and pouring the soda water into the juicer. Let the water rinse the inside of the juicer before opening the cap and releasing the water into the juice.

Tip:

  • if you like it sweeter you can add 1/2 tbsp of maple syrup to the juice afterwards
  • you can substitute soda water for mineral water or coconut water
