This is a great morning juice because it is filled with apples that have a natural sweetness and help to get you up and going, not to mention the deep red colour that you get from the beetroot.
The ginger pairs beautifully with both the apple and the ginger to give it a bit of a spicy kick, so if you like ginger, add more to suit your taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 9 Red Apples
  • 2 cm piece Ginger
  • 1 Lemon

Preparation

Beetroot
  • Cut in half and then into quarters
  • Slice each half into thin slices to make it easier to press
  • Juice with skin on (you can also juice the leaves and stems)

Apple
  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers
  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.
  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute

Ginger
  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece
  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on

Lemon
  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points
  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon

Instructions

  • Add the beetroot first, which will give you a deep red colour into your juice. Always go slow with beetroot juicing 2 or 3 slices at a time.
  • Then, add half of the apples, followed by the ginger.
  • Next add the remaining apples This will help to add extra ginger flavour into juice.
  • Finish with the lemon slices.
  • Tip: Look for non-waxed apples or wash them in your kitchen sink filled with water and 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar to remove the wax.
